UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta and INTI International University Mark Strategic Partnership through Symbolic MoU Exchange
Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) and INTI International University, Malaysia, marked another important milestone in strengthening international academic collaboration through a Symbolic MoU Exchange held on 12 May 2026 at INTI International University, Malaysia. The event reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to establishing a strategic and sustainable partnership that will advance academic excellence, research collaboration, innovation, and global engagement.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been officially signed by the President of INTI International University. The agreement will subsequently be completed through a desk-to-desk signing process by the Rector of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, after which the MoU will become fully executed by both institutions. The symbolic exchange therefore represents the mutual commitment to formalizing a long-term partnership and initiating future collaborative programmes.
The partnership demonstrates UPNVY's ongoing commitment to expanding its international network by building meaningful collaborations with leading higher education institutions worldwide. Guided by a shared vision of academic excellence and internationalization, UPNVY and INTI International University seek to create greater opportunities for students, lecturers, researchers, and professional staff to engage in global learning, intercultural exchange, and collaborative innovation.
Once formally executed, the MoU will provide a framework for a broad range of collaborative initiatives, including student and staff mobility, visiting lecturer and visiting professor programmes, joint research, academic publications, international conferences, curriculum enhancement, community engagement, and other activities that strengthen the internationalization strategies of both universities. Through the exchange of expertise and institutional best practices, the partnership is expected to generate impactful academic outcomes while addressing regional and global challenges through collaborative knowledge creation.
This strategic partnership also supports the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By fostering long-term institutional cooperation across national borders, the initiative contributes to SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). The development of collaborative academic programmes and international knowledge exchange advances SDG 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing educational quality and global competencies.
